Lex. We publish under our store accounts. You never create a login anywhere. Your only step is a five-minute payout link for bank and tax details so we can forward royalties. Rights stay yours and the book is non-exclusive.

Who collects the royalties?

Lex takes no royalties. The Publisher pack price is the whole Lex fee. On Spotify you keep the full author share. On every other store the distribution partner keeps 20% of net, deducted before remittance. We forward the rest monthly with a per-store statement.

How much work is distribution for me?

Five minutes. One payout link after you approve the audio. We handle files, metadata, categories, pricing, AI-narration disclosure, and submission. Stores typically go live in 2 to 5 days, and we send you every live link.

A human-narrated novel runs $2,400 to $5,850 once narration, editing, and mastering are counted. Lex is $49 for narration or $99 fully scored, paid once, for 10 finished hours.

Who owns the cloned model of my voice?

You keep the rights to your voice. Lex holds a private clone on its ElevenLabs account only so we can produce audiobooks you authorize. The model is not shared, sold, or reused for other clients.

Is my cloned voice licensed solely for audiobooks I specifically authorize?

Yes. Consent covers audiobook production of your work. We do not use your clone for other books, demos for other authors, or marketing without your say-so.

Can Lex or the underlying voice provider use my cloned voice for any other purpose?

Accepted Answer

No. Lex uses it only to produce and deliver the audiobooks you commission. The provider processes samples to build and run that private clone. Lex does not authorize use for other products, ads, or training public models.

Can I require the cloned voice model to be permanently deleted?

Yes. Email us and we delete the clone from Lex's ElevenLabs account. Your consent notes you may request deletion in writing.

Yes. On request we delete the training recordings from Lex storage and remove them from the provider's clone workflow.

Which voice-cloning platform do you use?

ElevenLabs, through Lex's own account. Short instant demos may use a different engine; finished author-voice commissions use the professional ElevenLabs clone.

Would I receive the final mastered audiobook files with full commercial rights?

Yes. You own the finished masters as a work made for hire, with a commercial license, no term, no reversion, and no exclusivity.

How much audio do you need from me?

Aim for about 1 to 2 hours of clean, usable speech (hard floor around 30 minutes). Quiet room, one mic, narration style. Quality beats a longer noisy take.

Can you use an existing podcast, video, or other recording instead of me recording something new?

Often yes, if it is one speaker, no music bed, and the delivery matches how you want the audiobook to sound. We will tell you if the source needs a fresh session.

Can you accurately reproduce my accent?

Yes. The clone learns from your samples, including accent and cadence. Consistent, clean speech is what keeps the accent stable across a full book.

What happens if ElevenLabs doesn't reproduce my accent well?

We do not ship a bad match. We retrain with cleaner or longer samples, adjust direction, or fall back to a casting approach you approve before full production.
